David Suzuki Foundation

After nearly forty years in their Kitsilano location, the David Suzuki Foundation embarked on a move to a new Yaletown headquarters. Working closely with the team, to carefully curated what would transition into the smaller urban space, with the Foundation’s art collection guiding the design and use of each room. The lobby, inspired by the flow of a stream, doubles as a social hub, with furniture and finishes evoking water, pebbles, and vegetation. The feature rug by Interface, made from recycled fishing nets, reinforces the Foundation’s environmental ethos. Expansive windows and illuminated floors enhance workspaces and collaborative areas, while sustainable materials — including desktops and counters made from repurposed restaurant chopsticks — carry the commitment to mindful design throughout. The result is a reimagined headquarters where purpose, sustainability, and creativity flow together, supporting the next generation to do great work.
