Shíshálh Nation 10 Rescued Homes

In collaboration with the Shíshálh Nation and Renewal Development, we facilitated the design and development planning for a new subdivision on the Sunshine Coast—one that asked a simple question: what if what already exists could become part of what comes next? Rather than demolishing the existing homes, they were carefully integrated into the new development, relocated and given new life atop garden suites. The result was 17 affordable rental homes for growing families, while preserving and extending the life of existing structures The project became an example of circular housing in action, earning recognition in publications including Forbes and being showcased at the 19th International Architecture Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia Curated by Carlo Ratti, the international exhibition brought together leading designers and visionaries to explore how we can build and live more thoughtfully with what already exists. A different kind of development—one that looks forward by building on what is already there.
