Inspired by the timeless Belgian farmhouse vernacular, this residence blends enduring character with a restrained, classic expression. Designed for a growing and active family, durability and elegance were equally prioritized. Particular attention was given to window proportions and fascia detailing, where Katherine incorporated a unique envelope venting system that allows the windows to be fully recessed into the structure — a true European feature rarely executed in this climate. The homeowners were deeply engaged throughout the process, thoughtfully considering each decision to ensure lasting quality. Framed by sweeping views of downtown Vancouver, the entry opens to a dramatic wall of glazing and a beautifully appointed kitchen — expertly realized in collaboration with the team at Gillian Segal Design — creating a luminous and welcoming heart of the home.
