One Burrard Place

The inspiration for this space began with a dramatic silk rug from East India Carpets in Vancouver’s Design District, a piece that immediately set the tone for the home’s character and palette. The existing kitchen island, modest in scale, was reimagined to better anchor the dining area. We designed a coopered barrel base and carefully stained the oak table, with every detail thoughtfully executed by Tim at Jovial Walnut. Soft, muted tones and delicate pastels create a sense of warmth and serenity, providing a gentle counterpoint to the striking marble and black accents woven throughout the interior. The result is a space that feels both refined and inviting — a balance of texture, color, and craftsmanship that responds to the original inspiration while elevating everyday living.
